Dear Diary...Ms. NY and I Crashed the Macy's Day Parade
Miss New York 2010, Davina Reeves decided to end her reign with a bang. "It's the biggest parade in the world, and my sister and I were like, 'Hey, this is my last weekend as Miss New York -- let's go out with a bang". Donning her crown and sash, she leisurely made her way onto the Miss USA float, and road along waving to the crowd, and soaked in the adulation of the Thanksgiving crowd. After some time, parade officials uncovered her ruse and asked her to depart, but there were no regrets for Reeves:
"It was the most daredevil thing I ever did," she said."We had a blast. This title is about growing, about being courageous and fearless . . . This was fun, and that's what life's about."

Eric Lusito - After the Wall, Traces of the Soviet Empire
Eric Lusito has travelled throughout the former Soviet world from East Germany to Mongolia, from Poland to Kazakhstan, in search of these former Soviet military bases and his photographs are an extraordinary record. As the USSR crumbled many bases were simply abandoned. A few still remain – traces of a once powerful Empire – yet over time they too are beginning to disappear. The military departed but much else was just left behind.
Put Me in the Time Machine...Hugh Hefner and The Big Bunny
In 1969, Hugh Hefner purchased a stretch DC-9 Jet, and tricked it out. It was equipped with a full bathroom with shower, movie theater, disco ball, push button black out windows, privacy cabins, swivel seats, a king size bedroom, 8-Track surround sound system and more.
See the video below, as Hef hosts a party on board (and joins the mile high club). Air travel, Playboy style.

Richie Rich...The Original Baller
As we all know, we are living in a materialistic society. The masses obsess over wealth and extravagance, and many try to outdo each other with their flaunting and showmanship. Where did this all begin? Well in 1960, one little boy showed us how it was done.
Richie Rich is a gentleman. His net worth even at the time when his first stories were published were somewhere in the billions. But he was kind, and charitable, and took care of those around him. That being said...he was the worlds first, and maybe still, greatest Baller. Let Examine some of the reasons why:
Lived in Mansion upon Mansion, and Yacht after Yacht. Richie had an Ice Boat, that was a Yacht. Private Jets? Not only did he pioneer that Power Move, his was made of solid gold. Never been replicated. Luxurious travel destinations in his itinerary you ask? How about his own private island. Not enough? How about his own island in the shape of his initial? Think money grows on trees? Richie had real money trees. P.Diddy has an umbrella held for him on the beach. Try having a 20" TV strapped to your butlers back, so you could watch TV as you walk around. First guy to have a tanning machine. Bring your girl some flowers? How about a money bouquet. Gold Brick jacuzzi bathtub, flat screen TV...this was 1960! His tree house had a butler, his dogs house embedded with jewels.
I could go on and on, but I think I've made my point. Richie Rich. Original Baller. Respect.

Fame Reality Check - Willie Nelson
Fame Reality Check
So Willie Nelson was behind bars today. The country music singer, was arrested in Texas at a border patrol checkpoint, with 6 ounces of marijuana. The standard media blitz swarmed all over this story, and this 77 year old living legend once again faces misdemeanor charges related to drug possession.
There is absolutely no story here. Just knowing who Willie Nelson is, is to know the man is music Royalty, and a habitual pot toker. Six ounces on Willie Nelsons tour bus sounds like he was running a bit low by his standards. But, he is famous, and he got arrested, so its news. For me, it was just a nice reminder that the guy is still alive and kickin. Fame Sucks, but Willie Nelson....You Rule.

Turkey Substitute
Dear Diary... Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. I know what is about to happen. I am going to Eat my brains out. Turkey, stuffing, and a wide assortment of artery clogging treats, followed by an annual Food Coma that I will barely creep out of before I refill at dessert. Gobble Gobble. Oh Dearest Damned Diary, if only it was all fat free like this inflatable Turkey (and not poisonous to eat).

Rocky Imparting Wisdom on His Son
Dear Diary, Imagine having Rocky Balboa as your Dad! Having a guy like that around to tell you "...thats how winnin is done....". Lucky for us, they made a movie about this great man, and we got to share in his amazing life stories and the inspiration he provided. (I've completely convinced myself at this stage in my life he is real, considering the impact he has had on me, so no replies about how he is just a character in a movie, and how Adrianne didn't really die, and he didnt really beat Mr.T and Drago....not hearing it)

Girls In The Windows - Ormond Gigli
In 1960, Ormond Gigli photographed 43 women appearing in their finest attire in a dismantled row of brownstones on East 58th Street in NYC.
“We had to work quickly to secure City permissions, arrange for models which included celebrities, the demolition supervisior’s wife (third floor, third from left), my own wife (second floor, far right), and also secure the Rolls Royce to be parked on the sidewalk. Careful planning was a necessity as the photography had to be accomplished during the workers’ lunch time”

Sacha Goldberger - Mamika
A few years ago, French photographer Sacha Goldberger found his 91-year-old Hungarian grandmother Frederika feeling lonely and depressed. To cheer her up, he suggested that they shoot a series of outrageous photographs in unusual costumes, poses, and locations. Grandma reluctantly agreed, but once they got rolling, she couldn’t stop smiling.

Veterans Day 2010
]
There are nearly 22 million living American military veterans. It is such an overwhelming number, and we owe all who have served, and who are currently helping protect our freedom, our deepest gratitude. This video above always moves me as I am sure it will move you. Thank you to each and every person that has served this great country. It’s the Soldier, not the reporter Who has given us the freedom of the press. It’s the Soldier, not the poet, Who has given us the freedom of speech. It’s the Soldier, not the politicians That ensures our right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.. It’s the Soldier who salutes the flag, Who serves beneath the flag, And whose coffin is draped by the flag. - Author Unknown

Fame Reality Check - Amber Rose
Fame Reality Check
I miss Amber Rose. Her former sugar daddy, Kanye West, one of America’s most successful and insecure artists has been off the grid for some time. He had some really publicly embarrassing moments (See Taylor Swift and George Bush). He decided to get up on a Delta flight from MINNEAPOLIS this weekend, and perform gold digger. I mean, Cmon Ye….how attention craved can one superstar be! He is back from PR hibernation, promoting his new album, and being seen everywhere.
Unfortunately, since an apparent breakup in June, he is without his partner in attention seeking crime, Amber Rose. I am actually a fan of Kanye’s music, but his public persona is pretty much painful to watch. At least Amber distracted you from that. Amber, wherever you are, please resurface soon, and confuse us with your insane fashion choices, and completely confusing beauty. And Kanye, I hope this time around therapy has helped you become more grounded (which may be what inspired you to sing for a plane full of Mall of America shoppers).

My IPhone - The Wall
Roger Waters brings back The Wall to MSG. Whether you are a fan of the band or album, it was a very worthwhile experience. Would love to see this production make its way to Broadway. Waters continues his brilliance in this reinvention of Pink Floyds most famous work. At 67 years of age, 24 years since last performing any version of the album on stage, Waters delivered………You Better Run, Run, Run, Run….

Keith Richards-Life
Really enjoying this read. Any fan of the Stones or Rock and Roll can appreciate this. The Mirror UK released the following tidbit regarding the book:
Richards told BBC 6 Music his bandmates had given the recently published book, called Life, good reviews but Jagger had said it was “a bit bitchy here and there”.
Richards describes the frontman as “unbearable” in the candid memoir and said Jagger has “a tiny todger”.
He also revealed his nicknames for Jagger are “Brenda” and “Your Majesty”.
